Huanchaco fish, cooked by a chef from Tumbes

The fish and shellfish come up daily from Huanchaco, twenty minutes down the road, and William, a chef from Tumbes on the northern border, runs the kitchen. That combination alone is worth the trip into Trujillo's historic centre.

The centre had been losing its restaurants to Larco avenue for years. La Doceava went the other way on purpose, landing on Jirón Estete instead.
