Ask around Taipei for the best cinnamon roll and Fly's name comes up first. Their second Fly Cafe, near Xinyi Anhe station, finally lets you eat the rolls warm at a table instead of out of a box.

The lane setting suits a slow afternoon. Rolls sell out by late afternoon on weekends, so go early. The coffee does its job and doesn't try to be the main event.

I had been to old Fly Cafe many times before, this is the 3rd time in this new Anhe place. New place is way spacious, wall sockets are plenty and free wifi is provided, plus you can stay as long as you like, which is a big plus for digital nomads. Fly’s Sicilian coffee is the absolute BEST in the city. The delicate balance between sourness, zesty and astringency from lemon peel/lemon juice and sweetness from sugar always amazes me. Tuna sandwich is big in portion and ridiculously delicious. Thin layer of peanut butter and few jalapeño here and there brings out more flavors to it. I tried congee combo meal once, which were sunny-side-up, stir-fried veggie, veggie pancake, meat floss, Chinese cheese and congee. It was light and flavorful, the best part was that congee, Chinese cheese and meat floss were refillable by request. The only downside is that congee combo meal was not designed for people with big appetite.

The newly opened second branch. I love the decor. The same delicious golden combination: cinnamon rolls and Sicilian coffee. I also tried the carrot cake; it was very dense and tasted great.
