Solo mala hotpot, fortune-telling decor included

Jhan Ji's mala hotpot is the one every Taiwan celebrity gets photographed at. Its spinoff, Suan Suan Wu, takes the format solo: one person, one yuanyang pot, five self-picked ingredients, the famous mala duck blood among them.

It sits in the basement of Ximen's Great World building, decked out around Chinese fortune-telling by Studio In2 favorite Motif Planning. Peak hours book out fast, so odd hours are your best shot at a walk-in.
