The Fishery Zhongshan

★ 4.3 · 375 reviews Taipei Opened 2025

Hualien's seafood ramen crosses the mountains

The pickled-chili seafood noodle is the bowl to order, a Hualien specialty you won't find elsewhere in Taipei. This Zhongshan branch, tucked in the lanes behind the Regent, spares west-coasters the train ride out to the original harbor spot.

Go for the Sichuan-pepper sesame dipping noodle, a branch-only collab, and add the fried mahi-mahi from Qixingtan on the side. Lunch queues have died down since the opening rush, so it's an easy walk-in now.

Deep fried belt fish is delicious. Noodles were nothing exciting but not bad. The guy with the glasses taking customer orders should not be in a customer interfacing role because his mannerism is unpleasant.

Delicious fish soup and battered Mahi Mahi fish. All cooked to perfection. Despite being very busy we were served promptly and cheerfully.

The deep fried fish is the best so far tried this time. The ramen is better than rice. The soup is quite tasty. The fish quality is good in general. Tiny restaurant and quite crowded.

This was my first time at this ramen shop, which specializes in fish soup. I was lucky that it was open on the second day of the Lunar New Year. I ordered fish and pork 🙏 The soup is light and the dipping sauce is rich and flavorful. The noodles are thin and slightly hand-kneaded. The flavor develops as they mix with the soup. There's half a soft-boiled egg, but a whole one would have been nice. Nice taste and good for all!
