Palace-kitchen Thai cooking inside an Ari house
This is the royal end of Thai cooking, the dishes that take a morning of carving and pounding before service even starts. Kwantip works out of a house on Ari Samphan 6, and it's rare to find cooking at this level outside a palace kitchen.
Ari is thick with cafés and short on kitchens this serious, so weekends book out fast. Ask what the day's relish is.

Truly a MasterChef in Thai culinary heritage. An exploration of rare, forgotten Thai recipes. Every dish is masterfully executed, balancing deep, layered flavors with an incredible respect for traditional recipes. The attention to detail is exceptional, offering a wonderfully creative yet authentic journey through Thailand's culinary history.

Very delicious and worth the price! At first I was worried but the price and portion of foods seem small but I was totally wrong the food portion was well designed and planned. I and my friend was very full and satisfied. Taking about flavour and taste it is clearly the best of the best of Thai foods. Chef Pom is so cute in person and yes she’s very charismatic. The alley is quite small though if you have a big car you may need to be careful. The staffs were very nice and helpful too!

Authentic Thai flavour with decent story and combination. Appetizers are all well designed and served in set of four mini potion - Miang Khana is somewhat strong flavour. The rest are all good though they are a bit bland. Nam prik made from local fruit is sour but go well with vegetable, love the selection of vegetables, some are not easy to find in this type of food. Pha Lo with salted egg is king if new, soup smell and taste good, not too sweet. Pomelo salad with duck is ok. The best dude is fried snow fish in yellow herb - highly recommended, flavour, texture and combination of deep fried herb and fish are amazing! Clearing soup with transitional Egg sausage is nice - little tiny egg sausage with fresh clear soup. TaePo curry is very thick and fish are delicious. Prawn with sadao dressing looks better than its taste. One of the highlights is prik nam pla with a real chilli, it goes well with all dish. Guava central is too thick but salt dipping makes the flavour better. Good service. Very delicious rice - recommend to try both. Parking and entrance is harsh and required some sort of skill.

The history of the recipes and the unique "Samrub" concept. A truly elevated Thai dining experience at Kwantip. Being served in the traditional 'Samrub' style makes the meal feel like a cohesive story rather than just a sequence of dishes. You can really taste the heritage in the Central Thai royal recipes and the bold Southern flavors. Chef Pom has created something special that feels both historic and fresh. Highly recommend for a special occasion!

This is one of those places you have to book months ahead just to get a table. The flavors are on the bold side, which totally makes sense since everything is meant to be eaten with plain rice (and yes, you can refill the rice). Honestly, every dish — dry or curry — goes insanely well with rice. The food is flavorful but not overpowering, and there’s a good variety of dishes. The chef also walks you through the order of how to eat everything, which makes it feel thoughtful and well put together. My absolute favorite dish was the Wagyu beef bitter leaf curry, which is actually an off-menu add-on. I honestly didn’t expect Wagyu to work so well with Thai curry, but this one really surprised me. The beef was tender, easy to eat, and tasted amazing — especially when paired with plain rice. It was so good that even after finishing all the beef, I still asked to pack the remaining curry sauce to take home. Definitely one of those fine dining spots where you get a proper Thai food experience, not just fancy plating. The price is on the higher side, but for the quality of food and service, it feels totally worth it.
