50+ local artists' work sold among houseplants, back downtown
Art Garden lost nearly everything when Helene flooded the River Arts District in September 2024. It came back a year and a half later somewhere else entirely: a new gallery at 98 North Lexington Avenue downtown.
The format survived the move. Work from more than fifty Asheville-area artists sits alongside houseplants, so the room reads half gallery, half nursery. Ceramics, prints, jewelry and small paintings are priced to be bought, not just admired, and the shop runs workshops on-site.
Good to know
- The plant sale during the reopening weekend runs 30% off - they repeat it seasonally.
- Workshops are posted on their Instagram rather than the website.

One of my favorite spots in downtown AVL! I was so excited to see Art Garden return after Helene and the artwork and vibe is amazing! 10/10 Highly Recommend!!!

This is my favorite shop in Asheville. I come here every time. This visit I bought mostly pots and plant-related items. Missed some of the ceramic art I used to love.... But they always get new stuff.

My new favorite art shop! If you love nature themed stuff, they might just have something for you. They have a good variety of different artists with unique wares. And the prices are very reasonable.
