Jewellery designed in Asheville, made in Malawi
YEWO has designed pieces in Asheville and made them in Malawi for years, working in recycled metals and small batches. This spring it opened its first-ever physical shop, at 82 North Lexington Avenue, the same address East Fork Pottery once used for its original storefront.
The shop carries the full jewellery line plus artisan-made homewares, so you can see the whole range in one visit instead of scrolling it. Lexington Avenue holds most of downtown Asheville's independent retail, and YEWO's flagship is a bet that this stretch keeps holding.
Good to know
- Open daily, 11am-6pm, and noon-5pm on Sundays.
- The space also carries artisan-made homewares, not only the jewellery line.

This is my favorite place to shop in all of Asheville!! Not only is it beautiful inside, but the jewelry provides job training + 3-6x living wages for people in Malawi Africa (one of the poorest countries in the world). All of the other goods are sustainably and ethically sourced too. Buying here makes my heart so happy 🫶🏽

There are a few shops at Asheville that are similar to this, but Yewo is by far the best! So many unique items and super friendly staff. And if you have a spoon fetish, this is your place!
