Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors on Meeting Street

Charleston does Southern, Italian and East Asian food to death, but this combination barely exists anywhere else in town. Terra crosses Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cooking on one menu, which is rarer here than it should be.

It landed on Meeting Street north of Calhoun, one of the fastest-filling restaurant blocks in the city right now, and it's the only spot there doing this kind of food.

This new addition to Charlestons amazing food scene did not disappoint. The Mediterranean, thoughtfully curated menu items were delicious. The Shakshuka was delicious. We went twice during our stay. Service each time was top notch . It’s on the first floor of the new Live Oak Marriott hotel. Definitely worth a try.

This was an amazing restaurant. I was visiting Charleston, and I came here with my friends and we basically ordered almost everything on the menu, and so much of the food was delightful. I love, first of all, the ambience of the restaurant. I think the restaurant is gorgeous, and I love how tastefully designed it is. I particularly enjoyed the fire-roasted oysters, the carpaccio, and the uncooked oysters as well. For dinner, we really enjoyed the branzino and the lamb shoulder. The cocktails were fabulous, as well, and I really also enjoyed the wines. I had the opportunity to try many, many things with the menu, and I think that this restaurant is absolutely excellent, and people definitely should come here. It's new in town, and I highly, highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful experience. Our group of six ordered nearly the entire menu, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. A few standouts were the fire-roasted oysters, merguez pizzette, lamb rack, branzino, and lemon olive oil cake. The service was excellent, and the meal felt thoughtful from start to finish. Highly recommend. We can’t wait to return!
