Modern Italian joins Meeting Street's new food row

V Modern Italian is the newest bet on a stretch of upper Meeting Street that's suddenly stacked with openings, sitting a few blocks from Terra and Dive In, both launched the same year.

This isn't one restaurant's solo gamble paying off. It's a corridor filling in fast, with Italian, Mediterranean and a neighborhood bar all landing within blocks of each other in 2026.

V Modern Italian definitely lives up to the buzz! My friend and I had such a great experience from start to finish. The space is beautifully curated with an atmosphere that feels both elegant and energetic. We originally went for the Girl Dinner experience but ended up exploring the regular menu too. The Marinara Meatballs were easily one of my favorite bites of the night, the Char-Grilled Oysters were incredible and everything we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor. We also couldn't pass up the tableside Cannoli Concierge service, which was such a fun and memorable way to end the meal. Even with an early dinner reservation, the restaurant was already packed. I also loved the pop-up flower shop that was part of the Girl Dinner experience. It was such a thoughtful touch and added something extra to the evening. Whether you're planning a date night, celebrating with friends or just looking for a great new restaurant to try in Charleston, V Modern Italian is absolutely worth a visit. I can definitely see why everyone is talking about it!

It was my birthday and I wanted to try a new place. We are locals and go to the same places all the time. Deven was awesome. He explained the menu so well and taught us what branzino is. I got the lobster ravioli. It was great. Deven is always welcome on our boat, Harbor bar. It’s nice to have attentive bartende not like Chris Gene’s.

Went for my birthday and it was great! Early reservations so we beat the crowd, plus didn't have the extra noise from a DJ that night. Wonderful food, ambiance and service!

My husband and I went here for our 6 year(married) anniversary! I cannot begin to explain how it felt so homey and fancy at the same time. Everyone knew it was our anniversary and it felt like everyone stopped to wish us a happy anniversary. It is beautifully decorated, and the food was just as amazing as the service! Thank you for making this amazing for us. Also: they have valet parking!
