The Lick At 10 Windermere

Steakhouse polish meets serious burgers
West Ashley finally gets a chef-driven restaurant worth crossing the bridge for. The Lick pairs a high-end steakhouse sensibility with a burger menu, landing somewhere between a casual patty joint and a full formal steakhouse.
That's the whole pitch: order the burger or order the steak, and either way you're eating better than most of this part of Charleston usually offers.

Picked this restaurant to celebrate my husband’s birthday, and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed every selection of our meal… appetizer down to the dessert! Everything was absolutely delicious. The place is pretty small so reservations are needed, but it’s a hidden gem for sure✨

Food was delicious! We had filets, salad, baked potato, fries and strawberry shortcake. Our waitress was attentive. We had reservations at 7:30p and the restaurant was full which made noise level loud and made it hard to talk across the table. Great addition to James Island.

It was our first time there and we love trying new spots or anywhere we've never been but heard about. The Lick was superb customer service and dining. We drove from Moncks Corner and it was raining, and well worth the trip. The lighting, and Jazz like atmosphere took me in immediately. It was intimate and very pleasant. The Staff was engaging and our server Taylor (I believe that's her name), was very sweet. The food was sooooo good! Idk why salt and pepper were on the table, b/c everything was seasoned to perfection! lol Seriously, the food was really great. The short rib over mashed potatoes with Brussel Sprouts, the macaroni and cheese with crabmeat, the Lump crab cake, deviled eggs with bacon jam and let's not forget Gigi's Bread...my goodness! ! I love the diversity and we had a conversation with a father and daughter seated next to us and that was a pleasure as well. If you have not tried this place, please make it your business to drop in and treat yourself to one of the best Steakhouse in Charleston! Smooches!

All the food was exceptional! We had almost everything on the menu, so we had the opportunity to try the majority of the food. The deviled eggs were so good they were inhaled before I even took a pic- I could have had just those and been happy. The tallow fries were off the charts amazing! I’d go to just get them.( pic below I didn’t take the pic right away and they were devoured )Tuna tartar was very artfully presented-extremely fresh and flavorful. Fried Brussels sprouts were crisp and addictive. Asparagus was delish and very fresh( not pictured) Mushrooms were perfect addition to the steaks. Wagyu steaks were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection- barely needed a knife to cut it! The bone in pork chop w the maple bacon glaze was heaven (I would like to put that glaze on everything). Short ribs were literally like butter. The Japanese milk bread rolls were exceptional and probably the best bread we have ever had! The finale was the peanut butter pie! Don’t walk, run to get this pie. My husband said it was the best peanut butter pie he’s ever had and he’s tried a lot of them all over the country. All the food was made from scratch and you could tell the quality was excellent.

From the minute you walk in and are greeted by the friendly staff, you feel truly welcomed and valued. I was fortunate enough to be the first person to try one of their new menu items, and it is easily one of the best dishes I've ever had! I ordered the scallops with succotash—the scallops were huge, grilled to perfection, and paired with a light, delicate sauce that complemented them beautifully. The succotash itself was incredible, honestly one of the best I've ever tasted. It is so exciting to have such a fantastic, upscale dining option in the Windermere area. I highly, highly recommend this place—and whatever you do, don't skip dessert! The crème brûlée was delightfully light, creamy, and absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back!
