Jodo Sake Bar

★ 5.0 · 13 reviews Los Angeles Opened June 2026

A former recording studio on Temple now pours sake next to a stack of tatami mats.

Jodo opened on West Temple in June 2026 inside a room that used to be a recording studio. The fit-out plays up that past instead of hiding it: a lo-fi system spins records, the lights stay low, and tatami mats line the seating.

Food is an afterthought, three dishes: karaage, kurobuta sausage, corn. The real list is sake, poured by the glass for around fifteen dollars.

Chill, cozy vibe for a bar! They had a fantasic variety of sake, and the staff (who were friendly and very accommodating!) came by to detail all the different expressions. I will definitely be returning.

I originally stopped in because I saw they had Orion on tap, but I'm so glad I did. Since I don't have much experience with sake, I asked the bartender for a recommendation—and let's just say, I think I'm a sake guy now. The vibes here are absolutely immaculate. The staff made the whole experience approachable, and their recommendation was spot on. They even gave me a little seaweed snack to try, which was such a fun touch and made the experience feel even more welcoming. If you have the chance to stop by, do yourself a favor and strike up a conversation with the bartenders. Whether you're talking about sake, travel, local spots, or life's next adventure, they're genuinely great people to chat with. I can't recommend this place enough. I'll definitely be back.
