Electric Bleu
★ 4.5 · 102 reviews Los Angeles Opened August 2025
Le Cirque technique, Mar Vista prices, in the old Rustic Kitchen room.
Craig Hopson grew up in Perth, trained in Europe under Michel Troisgros, Alain Senderens and Guy Savoy, then spent years running Picholine and Le Cirque in New York. In August 2025 he opened Electric Bleu on South Centinela with his wife and co-owner Mai Sakai, in the space Rustic Kitchen used to hold.
The cooking is French bistro built on California produce and European technique, no fine-dining ceremony. Candlelight, banquettes and a chestnut palette do the rest. Happy hour runs from Wednesday through the rest of the week.

Best French meal I’ve had since going to the French alpes. The food is truly so unique and delicious and the mix of flavours that results is exquisite. Genuinely such a good French food place that I recommend to anyone that enjoys it unique food.

Delicious, upscale bistro with casual vibe. I enjoyed the date night… even though I dressed up a bit too much. Whoops! Skip the all-black outfit, people. Menu — we ordered the tasting. Five dishes, very small, not especially filling. Wine is extra. We ordered two glasses, soju and dessert. Had fun going over server recommendations, she clearly knew her stuff. FYI you can have one person get the tasting menu and the other get individual dishes, they said. Unusual and a nice bonus. Dishes rotate. You have two choices per round, perfect for someone like me, who avoids heavy dairy. We had fun, left with empty wallets, and got late night kebabs elsewhere. (: PARKING — Arrive a bit early. Street parking can be tough to find. We parked across the street and jaywalked. No meter.

Had a great dinner there tonight! This is my second time here and the staff is great, like small things that are superior service - noticing you want extra gravy, giving you a glass of champagne cause they forgot your knives, and were very accommodating with our stroller on the patio. Food is amazing, and wine is top notch! Go here!!

After living in LA for nearly a decade, I've finally found a restaurant that warrants multiple visits a year. The atmosphere and service is very friendly, welcoming, and warm. The food and wine are delicious, especially the tasting menu. It's a great date night spot, or place to celebrate with a smaller group. So glad to have this French inspired restaurant in the neighborhood! Cheers.

The ambiance feels modern, slightly dreamy, and stylish without trying too hard—perfect for a night out that feels a bit special. The menu leans into elevated comfort with a creative twist. Dishes are beautifully plated, and there’s a clear attention to detail in both flavor and presentation. Some items feel familiar but refined, making it easy to enjoy while still feeling like you’re experiencing something new. I love the restroom—this made me smile and reminded of French core that always connects me with its nonchalant, free, rebellious, elegant but funny sense.
