French-Indonesian cooking from the Vongerichtens, now in Wynwood

Wayan is Cédric and Ochi Vongerichten's French-Indonesian restaurant, a New York fixture in Nolita before it reached Miami in January 2026. Ochi Vongerichten grew up in Jakarta, and the menu runs through her family's cooking (sambals, rendang, tuna in coconut) with French technique underneath.

The Wynwood dining room is bigger and brighter than the original. Order the way you would in Jakarta: several dishes, shared, rice in the middle.

went here on a Tuesday night for my fiancé's birthday and we both agreed this was one of the best meals we have had in a long time. everything was delicious from the satay sampler to the corn fritters, but our favorite dishes were the short rib fried rice and the lobster noodles. staff was super friendly, drinks were tasty, and the vibes were great. we were really sad to learn this is a popup and they are only in Miami for a few more months. fingers crossed they stay longer!

Food pretty good. Citrus slaw is refreshing. Minus one star bc ran out of a few different menu items by 730pm which is a bit early for a dinner service. Go early if you wana try the lobster noodles. Looked like every table around us got them but we couldn’t try

I just spend my birthday and have to say it was one of the best dinners. It all sharing plates, so we were able to taste the whole menu. We did the escargot (better than the ones I had in France) , staye combo, lobster noddles ( best noddles ever!!), the corn fritter with was amazing and finally the best cookie ever!! So good

My dining experience on 1 March was a 10 out of 10 across the board. The cuisine was exceptional, and the service was equally impressive. I especially want to highlight Nicole and Fausto, who were both stellar and made the evening truly memorable. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I look forward to returning soon.
