Natural wine and 12 Japanese plates, hi-fi included

Present Tense opened on Houston Street in April 2026 next door to Sushi Row, with which it shares a bathroom hallway and a certain amount of staff. The menu runs to twelve Japanese plates pulled sideways by French and Italian technique, and the wine list is almost entirely natural.

There is a 14-seat chef's table plus a handful of scattered tables, and a hi-fi system that keeps playing well past when the kitchen slows down. Book the counter.
