Turkey and the Wolf Icehouse

New Orleans sandwich chaos on Meridian Street
Mason Hereford's Turkey and the Wolf came up from New Orleans in March 2025 and opened an icehouse on Meridian Street, complete with Hamburglar plates and slap bracelets. The sandwiches fuse things that should not go together, like hashbrowns and salmon roe, and then they work.
The patio is the whole point on a warm afternoon. Expect a wait at lunch and no apology for it.

This was one of our most unique dining experiences for sure. Everything from the decor, to the ambiance, to the service, each one outstanding in it's own unique way. They have a garden patio and a covered patio both of which offered wonderful seating options. When in Rome...I ordered a Fried Bologna sandwich and my wife had the Mama Tried Burger. We shared a order of Crinkle Cut Fries. I washed it all down with a Black Cherry Lemonad, she had a Diet Coke. No numbered flag at tgis establishment, we sat down at our table with a Flying Dragon marker. The waitress knew exactly what to bring us. The Service was AWESOME. These folks know the meaning of southern hospitality. I would highly recommend stopping here the next time you are in Nashville, TN.

Super cool outdoor hang. Great place to cool off and get an ice cold drink day or night. Awesome sandwiches, backyard BBQ vibes - bring the kids, bring the wife, bring the dog and bring sunnies and sunscreen if the sun is shining otherwise come as you are

This place is incredible. From food to atmosphere to service, this place is unique and in a lane of its own. Can’t come to Nashville without making a stop at Turkey and the Wolf! THE COLLARD GREEN MELT IS A MUST TRY!

I have now had the special king crab menu and the Cinco de Mayo menu in addition to the normal one. Is there anything this crew can't do?? I dream about the crab egg drop soup but I also love stopping by for an amazing cheeseburger.

The vibe is quirky and laid-back, and the attention to detail really stands out—especially the nostalgic touch of serving everything on vintage McDonald’s collector plates from the 80s and 90s. We ordered the fried bologna sandwich, the McCaviar, and two different ice cream sandwiches. Everything was creative, a little unexpected, and really enjoyable. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for something different in East Nashville. Great spot for a casual, fun outing.
