Alan Faena's theatrical third act, perched over the High Line
Argentine hotelier Alan Faena finally landed in New York in September 2025, taking the East Tower of One High Line, Bjarke Ingels' twisting pair of buildings above the park in West Chelsea. It's only the third Faena on earth after Buenos Aires and Miami Beach, and a 160-foot mural running the length of the lobby sets the tone before you even check in.
Peter Mikic's saturated, cabaret-leaning interiors fill the 120 rooms and suites, a long way from the beige of most Manhattan luxury openings. Downstairs, Francis Mallmann cooks live-fire Argentine food at La Boca, and the Tierra Santa spa spreads across 17,000 square feet.
Good to know
- Book La Boca separately if you want Francis Mallmann's open-fire cooking; hotel guests don't get priority.
- Ask for a west-facing room for Hudson River sunsets over the High Line.

My wife and I have stayed at other 5 star hotels in NYC. Faena has claimed the spot as our new favorite after our recent stay. The hotel itself is immaculate. Lobby is warm and inviting, restaurant food is 10/10 (we loved the breakfast), service is outstanding and genuine. The spa is like a sanctuary. The late night live show at The Library upstairs was worth staying here alone. The entire staff- and I mean everyone- demonstrated true hospitality at its finest. Rooms are very well appointed. It’s extremely rare to say this, but I give Faena NYC a 10/10 across the board.

Nice addition to NYC with a fresh and original concept. We were able to enjoy some of the on-site amenities such as the living room, spa, and on-site restaurant La Boca. Hotel has an incredibly fun energy. I would plan on trying to use/enjoy some of the hotels amenities if going to stay here as will make it feel like a more complete stay. Rooms were very nice a quiet. You don’t feel like you are in NY once inside as it is very relaxing and quiet during the day. Staff attentive and friendly. Soft bed, nice shower pressure, fresh rose in bathroom. It was a nice change vs some of the historic grand hotels of NY. Also has immediate access to the Highline to get around which was fun.

Michele at La Boca takes dining service to the next level. She could teach a masterclass at the United Nations the way she welcomes guests into her sanctuary, turns any request into a yes, and balances a clientele that only expects the best. She delivers. The hotel and staff match her energy and give you the sense of being on the finest mega yacht crafted to perfection with a sense of style and grace that effortlessly delivers.

Michelle made our breakfast at La Boca in the Faena New York the perfect start to the day. She greeted us with genuine warmth and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Her service was attentive, gracious, and effortless, always anticipating what we needed with a smile. She was knowledgeable, thoughtful with her recommendations, and made the entire experience feel relaxed and special. It’s rare to encounter someone who combines professionalism with such authentic kindness. The breakfast was delicious, but what truly made the morning memorable was Michelle’s exceptional hospitality. She is a wonderful ambassador for Faena, and we look forward to returning the next time we’re in New York. Thank you, Michelle, for making our morning so enjoyable!

Although we didn’t stay at Faena, we spent a wonderful Saturday evening there and absolutely loved the experience. We enjoyed the restaurant and bar, where there was a fantastic live performance that created an unforgettable atmosphere. The bartender was exceptional and even treated us to drinks, which made the evening feel extra special. Everything was vibrant, elegant, and full of energy. It was one of the highlights of our weekend in New York. Highly recommend stopping by, even if you’re not staying at the hotel!
