Dominican-inflected barbecue behind a glass smoker wall

Watch the smoke happen before you eat it. Bark Barbecue built its Bushwick kitchen as the show: four custom smokers sitting behind a glass wall, visible from the room.

The cooking runs Dominican through the barbecue canon. Brisket is there, as expected, but so are chicharron and longaniza, which is what separates this from the Texas-derived spots it will get compared to.

Food wasn't bad. Could've been a little hotter. Still prefer the timeout market location better Food had a better taste.

When we came it was moderately busy (12:15pm on a Saturday). By the time we sat down the line was almost out the door. The food is good, well prepared and service is excellent. Totally recommend for all party sizes. We didn’t try the meats but we will absolutely be back for that. What we got: Tres Golpes ( chopped beef, maduros, fried cheese) Sofrito smoked chicken (w pickled onions &cloeslaw) Mac &cheese Arrroz congri &tonta dominicana total cost 55$

The food, the decor, the service, and music were all on point! The whole vibe of the place is amazing and I can’t wait to come back and try more food and the coffee! Great job 👏

Quite possibly the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever had. The brisket and carnitas were amazing. Pork ribs were sold out, so I guess I’ll have to go back ASAP! Staffers were all wonderful. Especially with Friday dinner crowd the first week of opening.

This place had the most infuriatingly slow service I’ve ever seen in my life. It’s kinda out of this world watching how slow they work here. The brisket was good, 8/10. They only have one BBQ sauce that was too sweet. No spicey sauce. The pulled pork was super dry as you can see. The chicharron was good but nothing you can’t get from the generic Puerto Rican shop. The fried cheese was amazing. The Mac and cheese had lots of high quality cheese and was very cheesy, but sadly not strong in flavor. Overall, I’m sad and disappointed. I’d like to try it again and will update my review accordingly.
