Argentine live fire, from the Don Julio team
Real Argentine charcoal, shipped in just to fuel the grill: that's the kind of place Graciela is. The team behind Buenos Aires legend Don Julio brought their parrilla obsession to Bank Street, and grass-fed steaks are the point.
Around them sit an NY strip milanesa and osso buco empanadas, the rest of a menu built to support the fire, not distract from it.
Good to know
- The charcoal is imported from Argentina. The steaks are the reason to come.

Great service and good atmosphere, really was an elevated dining experience. The highlights were the appetizers - chorizo was good and the various dips were also delicious. We also really enjoyed the empanadas as well. Our favorite main was the milanesa, I think it 200% outshone the steaks. All the steaks were ok but they did not stand out. Dessert spread was crazy, but pricy! Overall a great place to hang out and dine with friends.

What an EXPERIENCE. This is New York City dining at its finest, most vibrant, and best. The journey truly begins upon entry where guests are greeted by a smiling team of hosts and offered a refreshing glass of house made lemonade… immediately signaling that you’re in for a truly special + memorable adventure. Highlights for me include: the friendly + highly talented team, the individual portions of olive oil to accompany the bread course, the specialty cured charcuterie, the simply acidic and bright salad, the fries (best I’ve ever had???), the two types of chimichurri, the STEAKS, and then the creamy almond gelato. This is a place to luxuriate over your meal and ENJOY every moment.

Really excellent Argentinian steakhouse. Everything hits. The fries are legitimately amazing.

My third time at this place. Can’t get enough of it! By far the best Argentinian restaurant/steakhouse in the city. GET EMPANADAS, THE SKIRT STEAK AND FAINÁ, they’re a must. Service is impeccable, very detail oriented. I highly recommend Graciela!

Every once in a while, a restaurant opens that reminds you why New York remains the greatest food city in the world. Graciela is that restaurant. Created by Pablo Rivero, the visionary behind Buenos Aires' legendary Don Julio, consistently ranked among the world's greatest restaurants, and brought to New York alongside hospitality veterans Adam and Alex Saper, Graciela isn't trying to recreate Don Julio. Instead, it's an homage to the neighborhood bodegones of Argentina and is lovingly named after Rivero's mother. The result is something that feels timeless from the moment you walk through the door. The atmosphere immediately pulls you in. An open Argentine parrilla fueled by quebracho charcoal anchors the dining room while cured meats age behind glass, warm oak surrounds every table, and the entire space buzzes with the kind of energy you only get when everyone genuinely loves what they're doing. The staff wasn't just knowledgeable, they were excited. Every recommendation came with a story, every dish with genuine pride. That's rare. Then came the food. The charred eggplant dip was unbelievably silky, smoky, and addictive. Paired with fresh, still-warm bread, it set the tone for what turned into one of the best meals I've had in a long time. I was so bummed when they pulled it away from me cause I just wanted more. The fries deserve their own paragraph. I've eaten fries everywhere, I love potatoes, and I genuinely can't remember having anything quite like these. Perfectly golden, impossibly crisp on the outside, almost soufflé-like in the center, and somehow both delicate and decadent at the same time. If you come here, order them. Non-negotiable. Even the homemadee ketchup, was delish and I never eat ketchup. And then the star of the evening... The skirt steak, cooked a perfect medium over live fire, was everything you hope Argentine beef will be. Deeply caramelized on the outside, tender throughout, packed with smoky flavor, and finished simply because it doesn't need anything more. Every bite reminded me why cooking over wood and charcoal still reigns supreme. Even dessert stayed true to the restaurant's philosophy, simple, elegant, and memorable without trying too hard. What impressed me most, though, wasn't just the food. It was how cohesive the experience felt. The design, the hospitality, the pacing, the open kitchen, the handcrafted knives, the wine list, the music, everything works together to transport you somewhere that feels unmistakably Argentine while remaining completely at home in the West Village. New York gets a lot of restaurant openings. Very few immediately feel like they'll become institutions. Graciela does. It's one of those places you'll recommend before someone even asks where to eat. Graciela isn't just another great steakhouse. It's an experience built on family, history, craftsmanship, and genuine hospitality, and it's already one of the most exciting additions to New York City's dining scene. If you're in the West Village, don't think twice. Make the reservation.
