Live-fire Mediterranean seafood on Bull Street
That wood oven wasn't torn out when Squirrel's Pizza left 2218 Bull Street. Southern Cross Hospitality's culinary director Oliver Dollard kept it and built a Mediterranean-leaning seafood menu around live-fire cooking instead.
It's the Starland District's odd one out. The strip has plenty of new seafood spots, but nobody else here is cooking over open flame.

We went to Fishbar for a birthday dinner and made reservations ahead of time. Our waitress, Sarah did an amazing job explaining the menu in detail and answering all of our questions. Throughout dinner, we had various staff members checking in to see if we needed more water or if any plates needed to be cleared from the table. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. Sarah truly made our experience very nice and special. We can’t wait to go back!

I'm in love. Not only with the food but the amazing bar tenders. We have had a rough trip so far including our shoes being stolen but these ladies were incredible. We had the bread, and yellowtail for our apps and needles to say they were melt in your mouth o-gasimus worthy. Then the red snapper and potatos and corn stuff. Then the choclate torte. The hubby and me had to each have our own as it was too wonderful to share. I will be back just to eat here. The entire staff took such great care in the production of their master pieces. Well done Fishbar, well done!

This restaurant was exceptionable. Serving small plates, the umami of the food was incredible. Everything had such a wonderful flavor plus some very interesting sauces. We took our dog and were sitting on the patio under an umbrella when a big storm came through. We were somewhat wet, but it was worth every minute and our little dog slept under a few towels that our server brought out. The manager even sent us home with some homemade ice cream to go with our chocolate torte. I imagine that the experience is as good or better when it is not pouring rain.

Impeccable all around. I order crudos every time I see them, and both the tuna and the fluke were perfectly balanced and so nicely seasoned. The bread with crab butter was like an extra crusty focaccia, and very satisfying. The cabbage was crispy and charred on the outside, buttery and tender with a rich and delicate sauce. I’ll never forget it. Melon rouge cocktail was also a hit. The flan was memorably unique—ultra ultra smooth and creamy with a tangy hibiscus sauce and a marcona almond crumble with a sugary finish. The whole bite together was almost like a luxurious and better balanced key lime pie. I’m already dreaming about coming back for an entree. I dined solo at the chefs counter (very vibey). Great service, 10s all around

One of the best restaurants in Savannah. Everything felt on point from the service to the food to the overall vibe of the space. The interior is beautiful, and sitting at the chef’s table watching the fish cook over an open flame was such a memorable touch. Gabriella took great care of us . She is super warm, and every recommendation she made was exactly right. You can tell when someone genuinely enjoys what they do, and it makes the whole experience better. Definitely a place I’d come back to and confidently recommend.
