Mediterranean rooftop terrace tops a Bauhaus office block turned hotel

Casamara runs the Mediterranean menu here, two thousand square feet indoors plus a rooftop terrace with clear views over Dupont's rooftops. The building started as a Bauhaus style office on Connecticut Avenue and became a 73 room hotel in June 2025.

Rooms stay warm and compact. The real estate goes up top. SIXTY Hotels built its name in New York and Beverly Hills before landing in Washington. The conversion kept the modernist face intact and got shortlisted for design awards.

Good to know

  • Casamara, the Mediterranean rooftop, is the hotel's centerpiece - the 3,000-square-foot terrace fills up, so book rather than walk up.
  • With only 73 rooms and a spot right on Connecticut Avenue, weekends sell out; midweek rates are noticeably kinder.

I had an amazing experience at Sixty DC. The location is absolutely perfect and makes exploring so easy. Beyond that, the hotel itself is a destination—the restaurants served incredible food, the rooftop views are stunning, and the speakeasy adds such a cool, exclusive vibe to the nightlife. The amenities were top-notch, but what truly sets this place apart is the staff. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and helpful throughout my entire stay. I will definitely be back!

This is a great little hotel with excellent execution on almost every level. It’s not luxury, it’s ideal satisfaction. The beds are for a good nights rest, the finishes are quality, the layouts thoughtful to the point where you don’t notice anything that could be better. The location is prime for all types of travelers with a plethora of local necessities within walking distance. Solid restaurant and separate lounge/bar and professional staff. The only complaint I could say is, my wallet went missing while at the hotel and has yet to surface.

From the moment I arrived, I knew Sixty DC was going to be a special stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful—modern, swanky, thoughtfully designed, and full of personality. Every detail felt intentional, creating an atmosphere that was both luxurious and welcoming. What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was the team. Hospitality can make or break a stay, and the staff at Sixty DC exceeded every expectation. Everyone was warm, professional, and genuinely committed to ensuring guests had an amazing experience. A special thank you to **Johnny**, who is an outstanding manager. His leadership was evident in every interaction, and he went above and beyond to make sure my stay was seamless. It's rare to encounter someone who leads with such professionalism while making guests feel genuinely valued. Whether you're visiting Washington, DC for business or leisure, I highly recommend Sixty DC. It's the perfect blend of style, comfort, and exceptional service. Thank you to the entire team for such a memorable stay. I'll definitely be back!

Loved our stay at Sixty DC last night! We booked the Executive Suite with an adjoining room for the in-laws, and the setup was perfect. Check-in was a breeze thanks to the super friendly staff who got us settled immediately. The rooms are stunning with a gorgeous, classic luxury vibe—and those beds are dangerous. They were so comfortable I didn't want to get up this morning!

Johnny at the front desk is AMAZING! I told him it was our anniversary and he made it extra special for us! The hotel was very clean, decorated impeccably and smelled amazing. The only issue was the noise from the upstairs bar/club. We were on the 4th floor and could still hear the base of the music so just noting that if that’s something that may bother you.
