SEN Vietnamese Street Food
★ 4.8 · 220 reviews Asheville Opened December 2025
Hanoi street food finally lands downtown
Downtown Asheville went years without a dedicated Vietnamese kitchen. SEN fixes that with a Hanoi street-food menu built on pho, rice noodle bowls and egg rolls instead of the usual pan-Asian grab bag.
The Patton Avenue space has cycled through a few concepts before, but this one clicked fast. It's already turning up in local best-new-openings roundups.

A little hard to find from the outside but a great spot to get some authentic pho. Got the special pho dac biet (~$21) and vietnamese iced coffee. A little pricey but it came absolutely loaded with plenty of noodles and meat. I could tell the broth was cooked with attention to detail. Very well seasoned, clear, and a tasted like a warm hug from the fattiness. Cafe sua da could use a little more condensed milk but it will definitely get you wired!

Just freaking good. A little expensive, but darn delicious. It’s always quiet when I’m in there so my food arrives pretty quick. Fast lunch spot.

This is the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to in the US. The food is legit Vietnamese and rivals my mom’s food, which is saying A LOT. The phở is so flavorful and clean. It tastes exactly how it should. They are generous with the bean sprouts and herbs. Everything I had tastes like home. I can’t wait to go back. If you want true, authentic Vietnamese food, you have to go to Sen!

This is what pho is supposed to be. Don't worry about the limited menu; get the pho. I got mine with rare beef. The broth is clear with a mix of beef, aromatics (onion and shallot?), spices (star anise stands out), and a hint of sweetness. Great noodles and thin cut beef that cooks in the broth makes for a great bowl. Wow.

Tried out this newer restaurant yesterday (may 2026) that opened in December 2025, and they’re already doing a great job. The menu is still on the smaller side right now, but everything they offer seems really well done. We ordered the fresh shrimp rolls and the chicken rice dish, and both tasted fresh and flavorful. Everything came out quickly, and our waitress was super friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Looking forward to coming back to try their pho next time!
