A pizza counter returns to Charles Street, built around the oven

Charles Street lost its pizza slot years ago, and Willie's took the space back in March 2026. It's a narrow room built around the oven, so the line runs out the door onto the brick sidewalk at 6pm on a Friday, and nobody seems to mind.

Order by the slice at lunch, by the pie at night. Beacon Hill has plenty of restaurants chasing your reservation and very few that just want twelve minutes of your time. That's most of why this one caught on.

Great food, even better service. As party of four walking in at lunch on a Sunday, and despite a busy rush, the host got us settled at a table within just a couple minutes. Our server, Chris, was knowledgeable and fun and helped the table settle on dishes that we all enjoyed. There’s nary a boring dish; each brings a familiar favorite in a rich and intriguing way. They crush the gamut of styles despite having range on their menu. Apps, pasta, pizza, salad, drinks… all done and done well. Can’t wait to go back and try the sister restaurant next door.

Really enjoyed my first experience at Willie's on the patio outside. It didn't hurt that it was a beautiful evening in Boston! You must get the napa cabbage Caesar salad with the yummy bread crumb topping! The beef and pork meatballs also were moist and delicious. The fried chicken karaage is the same as at Temple Records which is has a great tempura crunch to the pieces. I would prefer larger meatier pieces, but these bites were still tasty. My girlfriends and I enjoyed the margarita pizza as well with the nice crust. The olive oil cake was to die for so I hope it is on the menu always! I want to come back and try their pastas and get another order of the Caesar. Don't skip the deal of the century half bottle of Duval Leroy bubbly! Willie's is such a cute place to come back to time and again. And maybe I am bias because of the Frenchie logo?

Cute restaurant with both indoor and an outdoor area. I walked in on a Sunday afternoon by myself and got seated within 5-10 minutes. The rigatoni Amatriciana was perfectly perfectly al dente. The sauce was bright and meaty. The burrata dish is great in conception but somehow is lacking in execution. Chive kimchi is typically picked up with chopsticks. But when it’s layered underneath a big ball of burrata and only given a knife and fork to eat with, it kind of becomes somewhat difficult to eat. The plant-like horizontal strips of chive make it extremely difficult to eat together with slathers of burrata on that amazing toasted baguette they give you. I think the kimchi flavor goes great with the cheese. Either they need to chop up the chive or something to make it a more seamless eating experience. Served Aidan (sp.?) was super warm and kind. All in all I’m super happy to come back, but wouldn’t necessarily mark it as a must-return.

Awesome food, drinks and service. Everyone looks happy to be there. Meant to take more pictures, but we were so excited that we dug in right away. The meatballs, chicken karage, Caesar salad are awesome. A wonderful surprise was the burrata with Korean greens and spices. SO unexpected and yummy. All of the pizzas are delicious. Best dough and crust. I could eat the pepperoni and hot honey every day. We splurged and had the dessert, a panna cotta with blueberry sauce and crushed Marcona almonds. It was divine. Will definitely come back!

Found this spot on an article list of best new restaurants in Boston by the eater and with an award winning chef behind it I decided to give it a try but was sorely disappointed. Ordered the Caesar salad, carbonara, and got the Panna cotta dessert. The Ceaser was nice. Had a lot more celery than I expected but it paired nicely with the Napa cabbage. The dressing was also great salty and savory touch. Unfortunately the Carbonara could not follow up. The sauce was very creamy and sour which I would expect with yuzu but that's all it was, sour. Every forkful is just a mouthfuls of sour, could barely taste any parmesan and didn't taste the bottarga at all. The portion size is very small as well and for the price of the dish it seems like a joke. The Panna Cotta wasn't much better. Despite being advertised as white peach Panna cotta it just tasted of plain cream and the blueberries didn't add much flavor either. The upsides of this restaurant is that it's got immaculate vibes along with atmosphere and it would be a great date spot until the food comes out. It's a shiny new hip restaurant with prices written in gold but the menu left in a rough draft. 3 stars only because it wasn't an outright unpleasant experience but for the price I'd rather go somewhere else.
