Steak frites with a harbour view, Sai Ying Pun style

Grab a window table at Bistrot du Vin and you get tram tracks in the foreground, harbour just past them. The kitchen keeps it classic: steak frites, duck confit, a wine list built for pairing by the glass rather than pushing a tasting menu.

Connaught Road West still runs on the old dried-seafood trade, not the cafe streets climbing the hill behind it. A French bistro here is an outlier, priced like a Tuesday dinner rather than a special occasion, betting on locals over tourists.
