Thai sake from the Blackitch team, poured right where it's fermented

Seii is a Thai sake made by the team behind Blackitch Artisan Kitchen, the fermentation-focused restaurant that has run on Nimman Soi 7 for years. The flagship a few doors down packs a retail floor, a bar and a working fermentation lab under one roof, designed by Irin Design Studio. Thai-made sake existed before this, but nobody had given it a proper shopfront.

Grab a bottle to take home, or wait for the bar. It opens at five, pouring the full range by the glass alongside food built on the same kitchen's technique. Closed Wednesdays, and it sits right next to Blackitch, so the two work as one stop.

Good to know

• Closed Wednesdays. The shop opens at 11.30am; the bar starts pouring at 5pm.
• Bottles are sold to take away - the tasting flight at the bar is the fastest way to work out which one you want.

  My girlfriend and I were here on Saturday 2/28, and the guy bartending (whose name I have forgotten, I'm so sorry) was amazing. Very kind, he said he was newer at bartending. The drinks he made us were among the best I've ever had. Definitely the best I've had in Thailand. Thank you for a wonderful time! I would definitely visit again.
