A Michelin-starred chef's Mexican tasting menu, now in Charleston

Johnny Curiel earned a Michelin star with his Mexican fine dining in Denver, and Charleston is the first place he's taken that outside Colorado. The new spot sits on the ground floor of The Charlee on Cannon, right in the same stretch as Allora and Sonder.

Rather than ship in a template restaurant-group menu, Curiel is translating his own tasting-menu style south. It's a bet that single-star Mexican cooking lands just as well in a Southern port city with its own food identity.
