Fugazzi Pizzeria Napoletana

Real Naples pizza rules, planted on Kai Tak's old runway

Fugazzi keeps it simple: dough that proofs for at least 24 hours, a wood-fired oven shipped in and rebuilt on site, and a menu that skips the gimmick toppings. This is Neapolitan pizza done straight, no shortcuts.

It sits inside Cullinan Sky Mall, one of the new retail blocks rising on the old Kai Tak airport runway. The area's been rebuilding in phases since the airport moved to Chek Lap Kok in 1998, and Fugazzi is betting the families filling the new towers want a proper pizzeria, not another food court chain.

Date of Visit: July 10, 2026 We came here specifically to try their pizzas after a friend recommended them. Overall, the food was quite good. The pizza dough was soft with a great texture. We ordered 4 pizzas in total. Two of them were tomato-based (Rustica and Prosciutto e Bufala). We found the tomato sauce to be a bit too watery—the liquid would drip when we picked up a slice. To be fair, the wateriness didn't make the pizza crust soggy, but the thin consistency definitely affected the mouthfeel of the sauce itself. On the other hand, I personally really liked the two cheese pizzas (Quattro Formaggi and Donnarita); they were surprisingly good. For starters, we had the Antipasto platter. Since we were a group of 6, it was hard for everyone to get a taste of everything on the board. Honestly, I found it nothing special. I'd suggest skipping it and saving your stomach space for the pizzas. However, the other starter (fried squid) was quite good. The squid wasn't tough, and the pieces were perfectly bite-sized—very easy and elegant to eat, especially for ladies. Definitely recommend this one. For dessert, we had the Tiramisu. The alcohol taste was relatively mild, which is perfect for people who aren't fans of a strong liquor flavor in their desserts. We also ordered a Nutella Pizza. The portion was quite large, but it didn't give me any special surprise. Even though I have a sweet tooth, I'd much prefer their regular savory pizzas. That said, if you still have room and want to give it a try, it's alright. However, the main areas needing improvement are the service and the pacing of the meal. I understand that in Western dining culture, people usually don't share pizzas. But since we ordered two starters, there was absolutely no buffer time between the starters and the pizzas. By the time the fourth pizza was served, we had no room left on our table. I feel the staff should ask if the table is sharing when taking the order and adjust the pacing accordingly. After all, pizza is heavily cheese-based and really doesn't taste good once it gets cold. The biggest issue of the night was the floor service. I'm not sure if the restaurant is understaffed or just not well-trained. We essentially had to chase them multiple times for every single drink order. One of my friends waited half an hour just for a glass of white wine. Towards the end of the meal, we even had to ask several times just to get our water refilled—they never proactively poured water unless requested. However, I must give a shout-out to the restaurant manager, Celine. Despite the slip-ups from the floor staff, Celine tried her best to remedy the situation and follow up with a great attitude. One of the stars in this review goes directly to her. One last thing to note is the indoor temperature. We were seated indoors, but it somehow got hotter and hotter. We weren't sitting near the outdoor entrance, so it wasn't because of an open door. Since it was getting late, I assumed the shopping mall had turned off the AC. But the moment I stepped out of the restaurant, the mall was actually freezing cold! Hong Kong is only going to get hotter, so the restaurant really needs to reflect this to the mall management to find a solution. Overall, the deducted stars are mainly due to the poor service and the uncomfortable indoor temperature.

Indoor and terrace seating. Clean room, wide tables, easy chairs. Staff are polite and explain the menu without rush. Herb bread arrives first with olive oil and balsamic. We shared the Mortadella e Pistacchio pizza. Hand‑made dough, nicely blistered, airy rim. The base stays tender even after a while; no tough bite. Pistachio crumbs add crunch and a light nut aroma, the cheese keeps it savory. A small ritual we liked: the server brings gold scissors to cut the pizza at the table. The Spaghetti alla Carbonara is creamy and well‑seasoned, with clear pepper notes and a clean finish. Drinks were a tart Cranberry Juice and a refreshing Lychee Mojito, good balance after the rich courses. Tiramisu for dessert—soft layers, coffee forward, cocoa on top, not overly sweet. Comfortable seating, steady flavors, fair value. Would return for the dough alone.

Pizza was ok, but the carbonara was really average (not much taste to it, very bland). Also I ordered the side vegetables, must be the smallest portion ever. The worst must be the beer we ordered and we found a piece of hair/fur on the glass … service was nothing to write about, had to chase things a few times (feels like need a bit of work here). I won’t come back.

13 june saturday came here with my family of 3 with no reservation for lunch and there were plenty of seats available. we ordered calamari, rigatoni alla vodka and pizza napoletana🤘 it was perfect to share with 3. they gave us one small piece of bread each before our meal. cuoppo di pesce ($98) ✅ calamari came with aioli and sweet chilli sauce but we liked it without. it was salted well! we loved the crunch. rigatoni alla vodka ($162) ✅ this was THE star ⭐ of our meal. a small portion but very delicious. if you’re only gonna order pasta you should get this. seasoned well and we used the remaining sauce to dip our pizza crust. pizza napoletana ($158) ✅ simple pizza. mozzarella was super stretchy and the dough was so chewy! wish there was more tomato sauce though. will come again, very chic interior and not too loud. waiters kept refilling our lemon water without asking that was great👍
