Slovak home cooking in Hall 28 of the Holešovice market, opened 2026

Skô opened in Hall 28 of the Holešovická tržnice in 2026, with Slovak chef Tomáš Valkovič cooking the food he grew up on. Langoše, pagáče, lokše, halušky, cod in mayonnaise: central European dishes that rarely get this much attention.

Much of it is finished on a hearth, which gives the plates a smokiness you cannot fake. The dining room seats thirty, and a buffet counter handles takeaway for the shared courtyard outside, which Skô uses alongside its Ambiente neighbours Naše maso and Myšák.

Highly recommended restaurant. Food is super fresh with great modern twist to slovakian cuisine! Staff and service in this restaurant easily beat 5* dining experience! Well done!

Everything was above and beyond in terms of quality of ingredients, care, preparation and presentation. I really enjoyed their pierogi with bryndza (the highlight of the night for me in terms of flavour), steak tartar on top of langos and the vanilla cream cake (vanilla specs, unbelievable) As a main dish I got the roasted lamb done in two ways, with the side dishes of potato flatbread, lettuce and vegetable cream. Everything tasted fresh and well done. Nice selection of wines from neighbouring countries, they also give you to try before ordering. You also have the option to get a digestive to finish the meal, I tried beetroot digestive but there are different kinds of fruits. The set up is beautiful yet modern, with nice metal knives from Spain and an open kitchen. 10/10 dinner for their innovation on Slovak/Central European classics and their focus on good quality ingredients. -1 star for the atmosphere as it quite loud

Modern canteen/bufet style restaurant at Trznice. Not sure if the concept is ideal for Czech people but keeping my fingers crossed for them. The competition with Nase Maso next to them is good for drinkers (you can take food from any bufet) but without similar options, could be a hard game (even thought size/price is also a question for Nase Maso, not questioning quality and taste). Re Sko Food - on the expensive side, I did not see the fried cheese that I heard was great but the basic langos was top (did not mind 125 czk), soup (demigat) was not seasoned well / bland and small (for 70 or 80 czk), not good. Beer solid but 0,4 for pilsner does not make sense in any places. The grepovicka was weird for my taste. Service - very friendly and fine, even with delivery via window and kept us finishing it up post closing. I do not like asking for tips for non-service purchases (like Dva Kohouti or Matuska) but their call… Atmosphere - holesovice/trznice vibes - cosy for a beer and snacks but not sure for higher dining levels). Overall, friendly people, higher prices, selection was limited for my taste but worth trying.

We stumbled across this gem in Prague 7 on the way to the zoo. The food was a fantastic introduction for us to Czech food as two travelling Australians, but the service has had us with a giant smile on our faces all day. Each member of the team was so attentive and caring in explaining the menu, presenting us our dishes and making sure we always had a full beer. We tried beautiful house made produce - ham, cheeses and whey. We will be telling everyone we know venturing to Prague that this is well worth the visit. Our favourite items were the Langos and the Cherry Jam Pierogies, pictured. We could have sat and watched the open kitchen for hours. Thank you again 🥰

We had a fantastic evening. Group of 4. (50/50% 🇸🇰 and 🇨🇿 ) Personal were polite, helpful and actually we had a fun. Food were delicious. The beef tartar with "klobása oil" had nice touch to the dish. "Treska v majonéza" with the warm and fluffy "brioch" just woww. Siven had nice skin crust. Pajšl was authentic to the cuisine. And the dezert was fantastic finish. They have interesting drinking menu including traditional Slovakia "borovička". Big thanks and keep up the good work 👏 We will come back for more.
