Wedding-feast cooking from a chef barely out of school

Zhen Mei Lou fills a gap nobody else near Central Park was touching: proper round-table banquet cooking, run by a chef young enough to be carded. Trained at the National Kaohsiung University of Hospitality and Tourism, he cooks a menu that reads like a wedding feast edited by someone with taste.

The claypot chicken soup, reduced until it pours thick, anchors the table, backed by oversized seafood plates built for sharing. It's reservation-based and already a hard table to land, so call ahead. Closed Thursdays.
