Craft & Carvery

Carving-station sandwiches, now with pizza
Craft & Carvery lost its stall when Time Out Market closed abruptly in January 2026. Five months later, on 1 July, restaurateur Richard Vallejo and chef Yanitzin Sanchez reopened it as a brick-and-mortar on West North Avenue with far more room to work with.
The carving station survived the move and still sells porchetta and brisket by the pound. What's new is everything around it: a coffee bar, brunch service, cacio e pepe tartines at lunch, and pizzas the kitchen describes as New York meeting Neapolitan. The pair also run Botanero on Ashland.

The best brisket melt I’ve ever had. This place is amazing! Loved the space and staff, too.

I am absolutely over the moon Craft and Carvery opened in my neighborhood. I just had one of their egg sandwiches and the Mac and Cheese both out of this world! I can’t wait to try the pizza and everything actually! Bravo guys!

Great restaurant with excellent food. Had the Brisket melt and Porchetta. Both were so good! Will definitely be back to try more items. Highly recommend if you’re in the Wicker Park area.

Fantastic pannouzo sandwiches - thin, crunchy, rustic baked pizza dough sandwiches, and just the right bread to meat ratio. Kale caesar salad was superb also. Convenient for walk in and take out, looking forward to the full menu. Good people too. A very welcome addition to the neighborhood.
