Sean Brock's Tokyo pizza, thirty seats

Sean Brock opened Sho in Riverside Village in April 2025, a thirty-seat room dedicated to the pizza he and his team ate in Tokyo. The dough took years to develop, ferments long, and is meant to sit lighter than it looks.

Neo-Neapolitan is the label. Thirty seats means the wait list opens the moment they unlock, so book or go at 5pm.

We really enjoyed the food and service at Sho! The cocktails (house G&T and industry spritz) were both great. The Caesar salad lived up to the hype and is a must here. We got both of the pizza specials - peach and street corn and loved both. The pizza crust was especially delicious! Our server was attentive and helpful. The parking was easy behind the building and Sho validates for 90mins. Will definitely return!

I went here with my son for lunch. Made a reservation online. Easy process. Arrived at time and immediately seated. This place is not your average pizza spot. Eclectic vibe with gourmet pizza. Highly quality ingredients and the flavor was fantastic. We ordered the Salumi and the Godfather. The dough is Perfect. The Ceasar salad was a refreshing spin with a fantastic lemony undertone. Also ordered the Matcha Tiramisu which was very good. Definitely worth going. There is public parking across the street behind the Curry Boys BBQ spot.

I'd heard the stories: if you show up during peak hours, be prepared to wait. So I did the opposite. I arrived around 4 p.m. on a quiet weekday, hoping to enjoy the experience without the crowds. Knowing that this restaurant had earned a Michelin star, I wanted to take my time and savor every bite rather than rush through the meal. The moment I walked in, my eyes were drawn to the neatly stacked firewood displayed above the kitchen. It wasn't just decoration—it was a promise. Before I even saw the oven, I knew I was about to eat wood-fired pizza, and my appetite kicked into overdrive. Whenever I visit a serious pizza restaurant, there's only one place to start: the Margherita. It's the benchmark. If a pizzeria can't master the simplest pizza on the menu, nothing else really matters. My son, a devoted Caesar salad fan, insisted on ordering one as well. I had my heart set on the day's special clam pizza, but unfortunately it had already sold out. A little disappointing, yes—but as it turned out, that disappointment quickly faded. We switched to the mushroom special instead, and it proved to be a wonderful consolation. Anyone who says, "Pizza is just pizza," probably hasn't eaten here. One bite is all it takes to erase that misconception. The crust delivers the perfect balance of crispness and chew, with the kind of texture that only comes from careful fermentation and a blazing wood-fired oven. The cheese is rich, stretchy, and beautifully balanced, while the tomato sauce brings remarkable depth, sweetness, and brightness. Every ingredient plays its part without overwhelming the others. It's a lesson in restraint—and in craftsmanship. The Caesar salad was equally memorable. Its delicate blanket of finely grated cheese looked like freshly fallen snow, and the dressing had a distinctive personality all its own. Creamy, savory, and perfectly balanced, it was unmistakably a house recipe rather than another standard Caesar. What impressed me just as much as the food was the hospitality. Every member of the staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making the entire meal feel relaxed and enjoyable from beginning to end. By the time we finished, one thing was abundantly clear: Michelin stars are not handed out lightly. Restaurants earn them through relentless attention to detail, consistency, and a level of craftsmanship that leaves a lasting impression. Sho Pizza Bar is a perfect reminder that when simple ingredients meet extraordinary execution, something truly unforgettable comes out of the oven

We just wanted some pizza on our way out of town. We selected based on the posted menu, not realizing it has a Michelin star. It was impressive. We started with the caprese salad which had celery leaves as well a purple basil and heirloom tomatoes. We went with the employee special which had two slices of prosciutto on it and finished with a peach Panna cotta. The dessert was our least favorite - it was good and clean tasting with the peaches in an almost peach crisp granola. The whipped cream had a bit of a salt taste which made the dish not sweet at all. It was good but not a sweet dessert. The pizza was excellent and the vodka sauce was perfect. In the very center if the pizza, where the crust is probably the thinnest, everything came together in a perfect crisp bite. After the pizza comes out, they added the thin pieces of prosciutto which melted into the cheese in top. Great experience, informs staff, definitely somewhere I would eat at again.
